Our Amazing Exotic Animals

Meet our fascinating friends that live in the world's wildest places – hot jungles, wooded forests, dry deserts, grassy prairies, wet rainforests and other unusual habitats. We have more than 50 different species of exotic animals. Visit the Bucks County Zoo to see our ever changing cast of characters.  We select our animals and particular breeds for a variety of reasons, with education and interaction the top priorities. We chose Egyptian fruit bats, for example, because, contrary to popular myth, they are not blind and actually can see very well. Fennec foxes provide lessons on adaptation in hot, arid climates. Each of our animals has its own lesson to teach. Audiences will learn about animals that eat only bugs (insectivores), plants (herbivores), fruit (frugivores), meat (carnivores) and those who eat all of the above (omnivores).

If you are planing a party or event at the Bucks County Zoo or with our Animal Junction Traveling Zoo we will decide which animals would best support your event. In addition, we may offer a surprise or two. Please be advised that some of our animals are not always available due to weather, illness or breeding issues.
